Tae-Bo: Intense and Integral Workout

It is a system that involves three different physical activities: tae kwon do, aerobics and boxing. It is an energetic activity that focuses on integral workout. Lower workout is enclosed in “tae” which refers to leg and foot–kicks. On the other hand, Bo, as in boxing, involves upper workout–punches. Coordination and balance are essential elements of this type of exercise. A good technique is crucial to avoid injuries and broken wounds.

Although it is a vigorous activity, everybody can do Tae-Bo. It does not matter if you are old or young, women or men; you can do all the movements and work at your own pace. You can start doing soft and slow movements until you are ready to do a more intensive workout. One thing is sure: you must be patient if you want to learn the right technique. There are videos, books and DVDs available to practice Tae-Bo. Tae-Bo is useful to reduce weight. In fact, you will reduce inches more than weight because your muscles will be stronger and heavier. As long as you remain active, your whole being will improve.

Moreover, Tae-Bo aims to achieve the full integration of body and mind. More than just being an exercise routine to get in shape, Tae-Bo can be seen as a way to know deeply how your body works. Your mind as well as soul must be connected to achieve the proper state of training. Keep in mind the qualities required to do Tae-Bo: endurance, strength, focus, and technique. Since it involves three different activities, you get different benefits. Boxing and martial arts develop speed, balance, strength, awareness and coordination, and dance gives workout for the heart. Thus, take advantage of this integral discipline!
