Many of the facets of the Metabolic Syndrome have initiated an interest in probiotics by Dr. Vagnini, and especially how they relate to improving the health of individuals with conditions related to this syndrome.

Metabolic Syndrome consists of four key characteristics, weight around the middle area or what is called abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, and lipid abnormalities - especially high triglycerides and abnormalities of glucose. The problems associated with Metabolic Syndrome include obesity, lipid abnormalities, severe gastrointestinal dysfunction, and inflammation were noted to be markedly improved by probiotics. Dr. Vagnini's research found that Dr. Khem Shahani, the leading pioneer in the area of probiotics who discovered the DDS-1 strain was right on track when it comes to addressing health concerns related to Metabolic Syndrome. Dr Vagnini has incorporated the use of Dr. Shahani's pioneering research on DDS-1, utilizing the probiotics developed by Dr. Khem Shahani for the patients in his practice.

Dr. Vagnini's continuing research will include the many facets of probiotic therapy beyond gastrointestinal function and health. Probiotics has been shown to help reduce inflammation, anxiety, manage cholesterol health, addressing Helicobacter Pylori, helping to improve overall health and enhancing body immunity.

Dr. Vagnini, the Director of the Cardiovascular Wellness Centers in New York advocates the value of probiotics in his personalized patient programs. Dr. Vagnini has over 42 years of experience in the medical field.
