Indie Christian Artist Katie Giguere shares top sales spot with Mercy Me and Barlow Girl
Hit single generates big sales at Lemstone Christian Store
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 23, 2005 -- Critically acclaimed CCM recording artist Katie Giguere continues to build career momentum with a recent announcement from the Lemstone Christian Store in Rockford, IL, that Giguere’s debut CD, “Bringin’ Me Hope” is one of their top three best-selling projects of the year.
Major label acts Barlow Girl and Mercy Me hold the number 1 and number 2 positions respectively, while Giguere fills the number 3 spot, according to store owner/manager John Reese.
Reese attributes the high sales volume to Giguere’s hit single “I’ll Find You,” played in heavy rotation on Rockford’s WGSL Radio 91FM.
“I have received more listener calls about Katie Giguere’s “I’ll Find You” than for any song, by any artist in the past two years. God is using the song so wonderfully,” said Charmel Jacobs, the station’s Music Programmer. At a recent sold-out concert in Rockford, Giguere was greeted by hundreds of fans lined up to tell her how much the song has meant to them.
“I am honored that God has used this particular song to touch people. It’s a beautiful tribute to the life my grandfather lived while we had him here on earth,” says Giguere. “My dad wrote I’ll Find You just after my grandfather passed away, so it’s a very special song to us. I’m so glad it has provided comfort to others as well.”
Since her buzz-generating debut during Gospel Music Week last year, Giguere has received high praise from critics and fans about her stunning vocals and unique style. She recently released a new book called “Being the Fat Girl: My True Life Journey from Heartache to Triumph,” and is the first artist ever to partner with the nation's leading distributor of Christian product, Christian Book Distributors, on the promotion of a new radio single.
